How to Prepare Your Home for White-Glove Gym Delivery

How to Prepare Your Home for White-Glove Gym Delivery

To prepare for white-glove gym delivery, get the whole route ready, from where the delivery team enters to the room where the gym will go. Don't just clear the final spot. Trace every doorway, turn, stair, and elevator along the way, then check the tight points against the shipment's packaged dimensions.

Next, clear what you can and coordinate what you can't, like shared entrances or elevator bookings. If any access or service detail is still unclear, settle it with the delivery provider or building contact before the appointment.

Plan the full route from delivery access to the gym room

Your route has two endpoints: the access point agreed for your delivery and the room where the gym will go. Everything between them is part of the job. A finished gym room won't help if a stair turn or a building door blocks the way in.

Write the route down as a simple list, floor by floor, so you don't skip a segment:

  1. Set the start and finish. Note the agreed delivery access point, such as the curb, driveway, or building entrance, and the exact room where the gym will sit.
  2. Walk the path in order. List each exterior door, lobby, hallway, elevator, stairway, landing, interior doorway, and threshold you pass.
  3. Mark the trouble spots. Flag narrow doors, tight corners, low ceilings over stairs, small elevators, and shared entries that need permission or a reservation.
  4. Line up the next checks. Each flagged point gets measured against the shipment, and anything you can't resolve goes to the provider before delivery day.

If you live in an apartment or condo, this route measuring checklist walks through access points in order, from the building door and lobby to the elevator, hallways, and unit entry. It's written for furniture moves, so swap in your own shipment's dimensions for any number it uses. If you're still weighing whether a gym fits your space at all, our small apartment gym checklist covers that decision first.

Confirm which delivery service applies to your order

Your route depends on the service you actually booked, so confirm that before you prepare anything else. Our Room of Choice delivery service lists three options: basic delivery to your home or a specified area, upstairs delivery (which has additional fees), and elevator delivery.

Those are listed options, not terms bundled into every order. For your specific US order, confirm:

  • Service level. Which option is on your order, and whether any upstairs fee applies.
  • Delivery endpoint. The exact room or area the team is scheduled to bring the shipment to.
  • Appointment window. The date and time range, plus any instructions for the day.
  • Route conditions. How many flights of stairs there are, whether there's an elevator and what its door size and weight limit are, and any building access limits.

Our shipping policy covers general shipping terms. For details tied to your order, such as a fee question or an unusual route, contact our support team and describe the route you mapped above. Getting the service level right sets the real endpoint for the rest of your preparation.

Measure every constrained point against the shipment

Compare the packaged shipment's dimensions with each tight point on your route. The gym's assembled size won't tell you this, because a carton or crate can be larger or shaped differently than the finished unit.

  1. Get the shipment dimensions. Ask the delivery provider for the packaged length, width, and height of your exact model and configuration. If your order ships in more than one box, ask for each box's size.
  2. Measure each flagged point. Use a tape measure to record the width and height of every narrow doorway with the door fully open. Also record hallway width at turns, stair width, ceiling height above the stairs, and the elevator's door opening and interior size.
  3. Note the shape of turns. Write down where a hallway meets a doorway at a right angle or where stairs change direction at a landing. A package that fits a straight opening may not make that corner.
  4. Compare point by point. Line up each measurement against the shipment dimensions in your route list.
  5. Send anything uncertain. If a point looks close or you can't get the shipment dimensions, send your measurements and photos of that spot to the provider. Ask for a clear answer for your order before delivery day.

Don't treat a close measurement as a pass. The provider knows how the shipment is packed and handled, so they can give you an answer that fits your order.

Clear the route and coordinate shared access

Prep work splits into two jobs: clearing what's yours to move and arranging what isn't. Do both for every segment you listed, not just the gym room.

Inside your home, clear:

  • Rugs, shoe racks, and small furniture in hallways and entryways
  • Wall-mounted items or décor near tight turns and stairways
  • Pet gates, baby gates, and anything stored on stairs or landings
  • Parked cars or bins blocking the driveway or front walk, if that's part of the route

With your building or the provider, coordinate:

  • Elevator reservations or service-elevator access, if your building requires them
  • Shared entrance doors, loading areas, or lobby access rules
  • Building hours or delivery windows that limit when a team can come in
  • Contact details for the building manager or front desk on delivery day

Some obstacles can't be moved, like a narrow stair turn, a fixed railing, or a door that won't come off its hinges. Tell the provider about these ahead of time. Don't assume the delivery team can work around them on the day. Pets and kids should also be kept out of the path while the team is working.

Prepare the destination using exact model guidance

Clear the spot where the gym will go and keep it easy to reach after the rest of the route is ready. Beyond that, follow only the room requirements in the current documentation for your exact model and package configuration. Requirements for floor surface, power, network, or footprint can differ between models, so don't borrow them from another product or a general checklist.

Model guidance differs, so check what applies to the unit you ordered, whether that's our S1 Pro smart home gym or our K1 smart home gym. For broader layout ideas once you know your model's needs, our guide to setting up your workout space covers flooring, lighting, and placement. If the gym is going into a shared room, these compact home gym layouts can help you plan around a living room, bedroom, or office.

Keep in mind that a product's setup needs are separate from what the delivery service includes. Ask the provider whether the team places the equipment in your agreed room, and get any unpacking, assembly, installation, or setup expectations confirmed for your order. If something is still open, like a tight corner, a building rule, or a setup question, contact the provider or building contact before the appointment.

FAQs

Should I measure the route using the gym's size or the box's size?

Use the box's size. The packaged shipment is what has to fit through your doors, stairs, and elevator, and it may not match the assembled gym's dimensions. Ask the delivery provider for the packaged dimensions of your exact model and configuration, including every box if there's more than one.

What should I send if a doorway or turn might be too tight?

Send the width and height of the opening, the hallway width on both sides of any corner, and the stair or elevator measurements if they apply. Add photos taken from both directions so the provider can see the angle of the turn. Ask for an answer for your specific order before the appointment, not on delivery day.

Does delivery to my chosen room mean the gym will be assembled or set up?

Not on its own. Delivery to a specified room tells you where the shipment goes, not what happens after it arrives. Check your order's written terms or ask the provider directly whether unpacking, assembly, installation, or setup is included.

What if my route changes after delivery is scheduled?

Tell the provider as soon as something changes, such as an elevator going out of service, a new building rule, or a different gym room. A new route can change which service option fits your order, and any new tight points will need to be measured against the shipment again.
