AI Form Correction Not Working? Check Setup Before Repeating a Workout

AI Form Correction Not Working? Check Setup Before Repeating a Workout

When AI form correction stops working mid-workout, start with setup. Don't change your technique, and don't redo the set to see what happens. Silent or patchy feedback is a sign that something in the system needs checking. It is not proof that your movement is wrong.

The fastest path has three parts. Name the symptom clearly. Work through the official checks for your exact model and software version, in order. If feedback still doesn't come back, contact support with those details instead of guessing at a fix.

What to Check Before Repeating a Workout

Go through these steps in order, before you start another set or session. Each one gives you a clear result to act on, so you can tell whether the problem is fixed instead of guessing.

  1. Name the symptom. Decide if the feedback is completely missing or if it shows up on some reps and not others. Write down the workout and movement you were doing. These are two different things you can observe, and your model's instructions may treat them differently.
  2. Confirm your model and software version. Setup steps for one AEKE product may not match another. Find your exact model name and the current software or app version on the device. If you train on our K1 smart home gym, use instructions written for the K1, not general camera tips from another device.
  3. Open the official instructions for that model. Use the setup and AI feedback steps for your model, in the order given. That includes any camera, positioning, permission, or feature conditions listed there. Don't skip ahead or swap in steps you've seen for other equipment.
  4. Note the result after each check. Once you finish a step, see if the feedback comes back before you move on. If it returns, you've found the step that mattered. If it doesn't, go to the next documented step. Your notes will also help if you need support later.
  5. Repeat the workout only after the checks are done. A second attempt is useful once you've changed a documented condition, because then the result tells you something. Repeating the same set under the same conditions, or changing your form to "earn" the feedback, adds fatigue without telling you what went wrong.

For K1 owners who want a refresher on how the feature is meant to work during normal use, our walkthrough on K1 real-time form tracking shows what feedback looks like when it's running as expected. Comparing that to your session makes it easier to describe the symptom accurately in step 1.

Can Missing Feedback Tell You Your Form Is Wrong?

No. When AI form correction goes quiet or acts inconsistently, that alone doesn't show what caused it. The cause could be your movement, your setup, or a feature condition, and the symptom by itself can't tell those apart.

This matters because the easy reaction is to start adjusting. You might shorten your range of motion, slow down, or change your stance until something appears on screen. That trades a technique you trusted for one shaped by a system that may not be reading you correctly in the first place. If your form felt solid before the feedback dropped out, nothing about the dropout gives you a new reason to doubt it.

A better habit is to use AI feedback as a cue for a closer look, not a final verdict. When feedback is present, it can prompt you to review a rep. When it's absent, you fall back on what you already know about the movement: how it feels, what you see in a mirror, and the basics in our guide to safe and effective home workouts. Your judgment stays in charge either way.

If the Setup Checks Don't Restore Feedback

If you've finished the documented checks for your model and feedback still doesn't work, contact us instead of experimenting. Through the AEKE support center, you can reach our team and ask for the instructions that match your model and software version.

Have your notes from the checklist ready. Tell us whether feedback was missing entirely or only came and went, which workout and movement you were doing, your model and software version, and which documented steps you already tried. With that, we can point you to the right next step without asking you to start over.

Until you hear back, don't keep repeating sets or changing your technique to test theories. Neither one gives you or our team useful information, and both add training volume you didn't plan for.

FAQs

Do the same troubleshooting steps apply to every AEKE model?

Not necessarily. Setup and AI feedback instructions are written for a specific model and software version, so steps for one product may not carry over to another. Check your exact model name and current software version first, then use the instructions written for that combination.

What details should I have ready when I contact support?

Have five things ready: the symptom (no feedback, or feedback that comes and goes), the workout and movement where it happened, your model, your software or app version, and the documented checks you've already completed along with what happened after each one. This lets support skip steps you've already covered.

Can I finish my workout without AI feedback?

Yes, if you're comfortable with the movement. Train the way you would without the feature, using your own sense of how each rep feels. If something feels painful or clearly wrong, stop instead of pushing through. Get qualified help before you load that movement again.

Will updating my software fix missing feedback?

There's no general rule that an update fixes this. Software version matters because the official instructions you follow should match the version you're running. Confirm your version as part of the checks. Follow any update step only if your model's documented instructions or our support team tell you to.
