What Happens When a Smart Gym Subscription Ends? Check These Features

When a smart gym subscription ends, classes, saved programs, workout records, and equipment operation can each turn out differently. Check them one at a time, because keeping one feature doesn't mean you keep the others. For our own machines, the K1 product facts say no subscription is required, and our FAQ says the S1 Pro needs no monthly subscription and comes with its training content included.

Those statements tell you how the machines are sold. They don't tell you what happens if you cancel a separate paid service or change your account. Before you cancel anything, get a feature-by-feature answer for your exact model and plan.

What AEKE's Product Facts Establish About Subscription Dependence

Our product facts give two model-specific findings, and they aren't the same finding. Keep them apart when you apply them to your own machine.

For the K1, our K1 smart home gym page states that no subscription is required. That answers one question: do you need to subscribe to train on a K1?

For the S1 Pro, our S1 Pro subscription FAQ says the machine doesn't require a monthly subscription and that all training content is permanently included at no additional cost. Separately, the S1 Pro product details describe personalized plans and training-data tracking without a personal-trainer subscription. That second statement covers those named features and that one type of subscription.

Use these facts for what they answer: whether a subscription is needed to use the machine as sold. A no-subscription model also changes the cost picture we cover in our guide to personal training without monthly fees. What these facts leave open is what happens after you cancel a separate paid service, change your account, or close it. They also don't describe how long records are kept or how the equipment runs afterward. And they apply only to the K1 and S1 Pro. They aren't a rule for every smart gym.

What Happens to Class Access?

The class library is its own question, and our current facts don't answer it for a cancellation. The K1 product facts list 160+ classes, which describes library size rather than access rules after canceling a separate service or account.

The S1 Pro is described differently. Our FAQ says all S1 Pro training content is permanently included with the machine at no additional cost. That describes content that comes with the machine. It isn't written as a rule for what happens when a separately billed service or an account ends.

So for either model, treat "included" and "no subscription required" as facts about the purchase, not about cancellation. If you pay for anything extra or plan to change your account, ask a direct question tied to your situation: "If I cancel [service name], can I still open the full class library on my [model]?" A yes or no for that exact model and plan is the answer you need. A class count or a general no-subscription line isn't.

Are Saved Programs and Workout Records Treated the Same?

No. Treat them as two separate outcomes, because one is about using a plan and the other is about keeping your data. Our current facts don't settle either one after a cancellation.

Saved program access is about whether you can still load and run a plan. That could be a personalized plan or a custom routine you built. Workout record retention is about your history: whether past sessions are kept, deleted, or can be viewed once a service or account changes. A machine can track your training data without that tracking telling you how long the data stays available.

Here's an illustrative case. Say an S1 Pro owner has spent several months on a personalized plan and logged every session. Before changing anything on the account, that owner should ask two questions, not one. First: "Will my saved and custom programs still load?" Second: "What happens to my workout history, and is any of it deleted?" If support answers only the first question, the second one is still open. Don't assume your records can be exported, recovered, or deleted unless you get a direct answer that says so.

What Happens to Equipment Operation and Connected Modes?

Equipment operation is a separate question from classes and plans. Our current facts don't document how the equipment runs or which modes stay available after a cancellation. They also don't say whether app, account, or internet requirements change.

That matters because a smart gym's resistance comes from the machine's own system. Being able to use the hardware is a different question from being able to use classes or plans. A no-subscription listing doesn't prove the machine works offline. A digital resistance spec doesn't tell you which modes stay unlocked either.

Ask about two things. First, which resistance functions and training modes keep working after the specific service ends? Second, do those functions need an active account, the app, or an internet connection? If you're still shopping, add both questions to the ones in our smart home gym buying guide. That way, the answer becomes part of your choice before checkout and doesn't catch you by surprise later.

How to Confirm the Terms for Your Exact Model and Account

Ask us directly for the current terms that apply to your model, plan, and US account, with a separate answer for each feature. This sequence keeps the answers specific:

  1. Gather your details. Note your exact model (K1 or S1 Pro), the name of the service or plan you're canceling, and the email on your US account.
  2. Reach out. Contact AEKE customer support and ask which current US terms apply to your account, plus the date your cancellation would take effect.
  3. Ask feature by feature. Request separate answers on class access, saved and custom programs, workout record retention or deletion, which resistance functions and modes stay usable, and any app, account, or connection requirements.
  4. Push past general answers. If you get one blanket statement back, ask again for each feature that the reply didn't name.
  5. Keep a record. Save the written reply. If you do cancel a paid service, the FTC's subscription cancellation tips recommend keeping a copy of your request, plus notes on any conversations and how and when you canceled.

Shoppers can ask the same questions before buying. It helps to ask them alongside a check of the warranty and return terms, which can include software terms.

FAQs

Is Canceling a Service the Same as Closing My Account?

Not necessarily. They can be separate actions, and each one can affect classes, programs, or records in its own way. Tell support exactly which one you plan to do, and ask for answers that match that action.

Do the K1 Answers Apply to the S1 Pro?

No. Our facts for the two machines are worded differently. The K1 facts say no subscription is required. The S1 Pro FAQ talks about no monthly subscription and included training content. Ask about each model on its own, and don't carry one machine's answer over to the other.

Should I Save My Workout History Before I Cancel Anything?

Ask before your cancellation date whether your records will be kept and whether you can export them. Our current facts don't describe export or deletion. If the history matters to you, get that answer in writing first.

Do Cancellation Terms Differ Outside the US?

Don't assume they're the same in every market. Ask for the terms tied to your US account, and mention your country if you bought the machine somewhere else.
